In the first solo show of the works of Norbert Tadeusz, Beck & Eggeling International Fine Art presents a selection of paintings, which show rarely seen or exhibited aspects of his oeuvre.
The works from 1974 until 2006 show interiors, everyday scenes and, what you may call, still lifes. Tadeusz transfers these seemingly trivial scenes and details into worlds of experience, in which atmospheric, psychological and emotional states are intensified (Reinhard Spieler). The works from the 1970ies in particular show Tadeusz from a so far unfamiliar angle: as a wonderful chronicler of a certain Zeitgeist and attitude of these years. Apart from this rediscovery of particular themes and subjects, the presentation also provides a perspective for a revaluation and -classification of Tadeusz‘ oeuvre. By highlighting references to the paintings of David Hockney or Pop Art for instance, the exhibition illustrates contexts to which little attention had been drawn to so far.
The exhibition Olé is presented in close collaboration with the ‚Norbert Tadeusz Estate, represented by Beck & Eggeling since the begining of this year. In conjunction with the exhibition a catalogue with a text by Reinhard Spieler, director of Sprengel Museum in Hannover, will be published.
