The sculptural works and installations of Russian-Ukrainian artist Aljoscha (born 1974 in Glukhov) deal with both: social and bioethical questions as well as natural and artificial systems.
During Lent he creates a bioism-sculpture from black acrylic fibers, reminiscent of microorganisms in rampant growth, for the Gothic interior of St. Peter's church in Cologne. This dark cellular tangle will be replaced by a radiant, bluish-transluscent installation for Easter.
In parallel and until April 30, a luminous pink, bio-futuristic sculpture will be installed at an inner city park area, in the middle of the basin of Aachener Weiher.
Thus, »Alterocentric Eudaimonia« broadens the discourse in the public space of the city of Cologne.
You are warmly invited for the exhibition opening »Aljoscha. Alterocentric Eudaimonia«on Thursday, April 2, 2019 // 7.30 pm at Kunst-Station Sankt Peter in Cologne.
The artist will be present.
