From Düsseldorf to New York – 40 Years of Artist Books from the Kaldewey Press
Book artist and printer Gunnar A. Kaldewey has published 90 books over the last 40 years. In the mid 1970s, a succesful antiquarian bookseller for more than 10 years at the time, he decided from then on to completely dedicate himself to the production of artist books. He cooperated with American artists like Jonathan Lasker and Richard Tuttle, but also with German ones.
The Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek Düsseldorf are presenting 20 of Kaldewey's artist books in their exhibition. These represent the whole spectrum of his work.
