Leiko Ikemura has composed for the Caja de Burgos CAB Art Center a warning to an increasingly suffocating society. Her serene work is a transcript of her own personality. Ikemura encourages the viewer to discover mystery in her narratives and turn them into something fantastic or, on the contrary, to keep them within the bounds of reality.

Human figures transmuted into trees, personified plant organs and animals crossed by herbal attributes speak to us of a world in which the border between species must be rethought. They are all hybrid forms, in which the use of materials closely linked to the earth – ceramics, bronzes, pigments – reinforce the portrayal of beings all equal in their vital condition.
